Mikhail Vasilievich Novikov.

Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Honoured Worker of Science of the Russian Federation, Head of the Theory and Methods of Professional Education Department of YSPU named after K. D. Ushinsky.

He is an author of more than 400 scientific and educational-methodical works. He is a deputy chief editor of the scientific magazine “Yaroslavl Pedagogical Bulletin” since 1995.

Scientific interests are: historiography, foreign policy of the USSR, history of the World War II, education history, theory and methods of professional education.

He was a participant of the international projects “History”, “History-2”,  the European Union Tempus programme (1994-2000), “Alexander Herzen” of the German Academic Exchange Service  (1998-2003), “Civic Education” of the Ministry of Education and Culture of Austria (1999-2003), participant of three projects of the Council of Europe: “Teaching 20-th Century European History ” (1996-2001), “Reform of Teaching History and Development of New Textbooks on History in the Russian Federation” (1996-2005), “The Black Sea Initiative” (1999-2004). He is an academic adviser of fundamental researches within the topical plan of the Ministry of Education of Russia and the Federal Education Agency of Russia, government orders of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation “Development of Theoretic-Methodological Fundamentals of the Historical Science in Russia in the XIX — the beginning of the 20th century” (2000-2016).
